OBIT COX, VIVIAN CURTIS FERGUSON

COX, Vivian Curtis Ferguson, 81, of Route 1, Moneta, passed away Saturday, January 22, 1994 at her residence. She was born June 30, 1913 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late D. Jack Ferguson and Rosie Layne Ferguson. She was a member of the Morgans Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Marcus J. Cox Sr.; two sons, M. J. Cox Jr., Moneta, Wendell J. Cox, Huddleston; three daughters, Maxine C. Hannabass, Hertha C. Nichols, Sharon C. McLaughlin, all of Moneta; three sisters, Hallie F. Hubbard, Goodview, Gillie F. Smith, Boones Mill, Gasta F. McKinney, Vinton; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 24, 1994 at 11 a.m. from the Morgans Baptist Church by the Rev. Tommy Speight and the Rev. Charles Hoffler. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford, and request that those wishing to make memorials consider the Moneta Rescue Squad or the American Cancer Society.
