OBIT DAVIS, CLYDE SWANSON

DAVIS, Clyde Swanson, 86, of Narrows, died Friday evening, January 21, 1994 in the Giles Memorial Hospital, Pearisburg. A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on June 6, 1907 and was the son of the late Henry Estil and Sarah Adline Turner Davis. He was a retired employee of the Appalachian Power Company Plant at Glen Lynn. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Glen Lyn. He was preceded in death by a son, Cleveland Swanson Davis, a grandson, Mike Davis, and granddaughters, Peggy Sue and Anna Lee Davis, a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Thomas Davis; three sons, Arlie Robert Davis of Radford, Clyde Rufus Davis of Peterstown, W.Va., and Bobby Lee Davis Sr. of Kernersville, N.C.; three daughters, Margaret D. Turner of Narrows, Betty D. Dent of Hampton, and Judy D. Evans of Glen Lyn; one sister, Clarice Tonatore, Charlottesville; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Glen Lyn Church of Christ, Glen Lyn with Mike Lynn and Tony Reed, Ministers, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Rich Creek. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows, Sunday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
