In the Fed's monthly survey of 163 manufacturers in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and the Carolinas, manufacturers said they expect:
Shipments to grow over the next six months.
An increase in the average workweek along with number of employees.
In December, manufacturers in the region said the price of finished goods changed little, and that the cost of materials increased but not at the rate of inflation.
The manufacturers surveyed said they expect finished goods and raw materials to increase in price at a faster pace over the next six months. - Staff report
