SALEM MOBILE HOME IS DAMAGED BY FIRE

Salem Rescue Squad Capt. Pat Counts said the home, in a trailer park on Main Street, was uninhabitable after the fire. He said he is still investigating the cause, but believed the blaze started in the bathroom.

The owner of the home, Madeline Ruth Shaver, was treated at Lewis-Gale Hospital for smoke inhalation and released.

Two firefighters also were treated at Lewis-Gale for back injuries suffered in a fall and were released, Counts said.
