OBIT JENNINGS, MAE

JENNINGS, Mae, 79, of Hillsville, passed away Saturday, January 22, 1994, at Roanoke Memorial Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 22, 1914, in Carroll County to Cloyd M. Jennings and Ida Henley Jennings. She was a graduate of Radford College and VPI & SU. She taught in Carroll, Rockbridge and Montgomery County Public School Systems. At the time of her retirement, she was a Biology teacher for Radford City Public Schools, where she taught for 31 years. She was a member of Island Creek United Methodist Church, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and the Plant & Pluck Garden Club. She is survived by a host of cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 25, 1994, 11 a.m. at the Island Creek United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Layne Pennington officiating. Burial will be in the Jennings Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home, Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville, Va. Funeral arrangements are by Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville, Va.
