NEWCASTLE - Keeno Jones scored 22 points to lead the the Cougars to a Pioneer District victory over the Rockets.
Corey Hunter added 15 for Covington (4-7, 2-1), which outscored Covington 24-5 in the second quarter.
Robby Huffman led Craig County (1-5, 0-3) with 26 points.

PEARISBURG - The Spartans outscored the Pioneers 25-17 in the fourth quarter, and Marty Smith sank two free throws in the last minute to seal the Mountain Empire District win.
Fort Chiswell led by no more than five points through the second and third quarters. Giles (2-6, 2-4) took the lead early in the fourth period and stretch it to seven but the Pioneers pulled to within one several times before Smith sealed the victory.
Patrick Steele paced Giles with 18 points and eight rebounds. Anthony Myers scored 12 points and Smith had 11 points, eight assists and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line.
Dyer Jackson scored 24 points and Jody Burnett had 22 for Fort Chiswell.
