SPARTANS RALLY PAST PIONEERS

Giles outscored Fort Chiswell 25-17 in the fourth quarter, and Marty Smith sank two free throws in the last minute to seal the Spartans' 72-67 Mountain Empire District victory.

Patrick Steele paced Giles (2-6 overall, 2-4 MED) with 18 points and eight rebounds. Anthony Myers scored 12 points, and Smith had 11 points, eight assists and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line. \

STUART - Jason Kilbourne was 6-of-6 from the free throw line as the Cavaliers sank 13 of 17 free throws in the fourth quarter to defeat the Cougars (1-10).
