OBIT JONES, JOHN HERBERT

JONES, John Herbert, 67, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, January 21, 1994. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Jones, Roanoke; one daughter, Dianne Jones, Shreveport, La.; three sons, Bernard (Pamela) Jones Sr., Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., Daniel Jones, Shreveport, La., Troy Barry, Laffett, La.; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Dorothy Williams; stepmother, Ceole Smith, both of Simmesport, La.; three half sisters, Betty (Dadan) Richard, Baton Rouge, La., Margie (Horace) Batite, Margine, La., Velma Preston, Simmesport, La.; three aunts, Eleanor Harrell, Simmesport, La., Geraldine Carter and Katherine Edmonds, both of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Cordelia (Curtis) Steele, Rockingham, N.C.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Park. Dr. E.T. Burton will officiate. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
