`EDUCATING PETER' WINS CABLEACES

``Educating Peter,'' an HBO documentary about mainstreaming Peter Gwazdauskas, a Blacksburg fourth-grader with Down syndrome, won several CableAce awards this month.

CableAce is the cable industry's equivalent of Emmys. The directors, Thomas Goodwin and Gerardine Wurzberg, won in the documentary category, and Grady Watts won for his editing work.

``Educating Peter'' aired on Home Box Office in May 1993.
