CLOVERDALE RESIDENTS LOSE POWER

A power outage in the Cloverdale area of Botetourt County affected 400 customers for several hours Tuesday night.

Victoria Ratcliff, an administrative assistant for Appalachian Power Co.'s Roanoke Division, said the problem was caused by a mechanical failure along a power line. Approximately 1,200 customers were without power at one point while repairs were being made.

Power was restored to all but 100 customers by 9 p.m., Ratcliff said.
