OBIT HOUFF, MARTHA S.

HOUFF, Martha S., 64, of Salem, died Monday, January 24, 1994, after a long hard struggle with cancer. She was a life time member of the P.T.A. She worked for Roanoke County School Systems for 15 years. She is survived by her husband, Earl Ray Houff Sr.; son, E. Ray Houff Jr., Salem; daughters, Paula Holdren, Vinton, Sherry Buckner and husband, Alan, Roanoke, Kathy H. Wilson and husband, Tim, Salem; six grandchildren; brother, John R. Sayers, Iowa; special friend, Suellen Miller. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church, Salem, with the Rev. R. Stuart Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salem Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 291, Salem, Va. 24153. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
