OBIT DAVIS, ROY N.

DAVIS, Roy N., 74, of Marion, died Monday, January 24, 1994 in Smyth County Community Hospital. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, 40 & 8, and UCT. He was a former signalman of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. He was elected for five terms as the Treasurer of Smyth County. He is survived by his wife, Madeline Copenhaver Davis of Marion; one brother, Bill R. and wife Maxine Elledge Davis of Marion; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 1994 at Seaver-Brown Chapel, with Dr. J. N. Howard officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by Marion VFW Post #4667. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Marion Life Saving Crew, P. O. Box 784, Marion, Va. 24354. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
