EXPRESS' LARCHE OUT OF LINEUP FOR 3-4 WEEKS

Roger Larche has joined Dave "Moose" Morissette in the Roanoke Express' rehabilitation unit.

Larche underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday in Roanoke. He is expected to be out of the East Coast Hockey League team's lineup for three to four weeks, general manager Pierre Paiement said Wednesday.

Larche twisted his right knee in Roanoke's 6-2 loss to Johnstown on Jan. 18 and sat out the next two games. When swelling in the knee did not subside, Larche's physician determined that surgery was necessary.

Morissette, the Express' enforcer, has missed the past nine games after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Jan. 6. He skated Wednesday for the first time since surgery, but Paiement said Morissette hasn't recovered as quickly as originally predicted and may be sidelined for another three to four weeks.

After enjoying a four-day break, the Express (22-19-2) returns to the ice tonight at the Roanoke Civic Center against the Dayton Bombers (14-23-4). Game time is 7 p.m.
