MARSHALL PLAYER REMAINS PARALYZED

Marshall cornerback Tuan Reynolds, injured in a pickup football game this month, remains paralyzed below the waist, his mother said.

Reynolds, a redshirt freshman from Patrick Henry High School, will be transferred to a rehabilitation center near Roanoke, said his mother, Nancy Eichelberger.

Reynolds, who started every game in 1993 for the Thundering Herd, will remain in a Huntington hospital for at least a week while he recovers from surgery to fuse his injured vertebrae.

Eichelberger said it was too soon to know whether her son would regain the use of his legs.

A fund has been established to help Reynolds with his medical bills. Contributions can be sent to: Tuan Reynolds Fund, Bank One, P.O. Box 179, Huntington, W.Va. 25706-2079.
