HELPING THE CHRISTMAS STORE

The New River Valley chapter of the American Culinary Federation, the Virginia Tech German Club and the "Y" Dance Club presented a benefit dance in December to raise money for the Montgomery County Christmas Store.

Kevin Murphy, Jim Sexton, Josh Pittman and Jeanene Dennison of the culinary federation presented a dessert bar of cheesecakes, a torte and flambeed crepes with ingredients donated by Southern Foods.

More than 40 couples attended, and more than $1,000 was raised and given to the Christmas Store.
