OBIT--LESTER, WILLIAM GRAY

LESTER, William Gray, 68, of Hardy, passed away Thursday, January 27, 1994, in a local hospital. He was ordain in 1972 at the Victory Baptist Church and formerly pastor of Grace and Truth Baptist Church in Copper Hill and Oaks Memorial Baptist Church in Danville. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Phillips Lester; one son, Stephen E. Lester, Glade Hill; three daughters, Wanda J. Thompson, Hardy, Connie S. Lester, Roanoke, Mary E. Rigney, Danville; one brother, C. E. Lester Jr., Riner; four sisters, Eileen Cragett, Ironto, Shirley Bishop, Riner, Betty Gilbert and Naomi Lester both of Christiansburg; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 1994, from the Victory Baptist Church. The Dr. H.R. Thompson and the Rev. John Riggs will officiate. Burial to follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Lotz Vinton Chapel after noon Friday.
