OBIT--PUGH, ELWARD LEE
PUGH, Elward Lee, 82, of Buena Vista, died Thursday, January 27, 1994, in a
Lexington hospital. He was born in Buena Vista, May 30, 1911, the son of the
late Rev. William T. and Mary Slough Pugh. He was a member of the First
Pentecostal Holiness Church and retired from Berson Silk Mill. Surviving are
his wife, Louise Staton Pugh; two daughters, Brenda Clark and Nancy Whiteside,
both of Buena Vista; two grandchildren, Susan Whiteside, Buena Vista, Wayne
Clark, Roanoke; four sisters, Ruth Harris, Amarillo, Texas, Margaret Ryals,
Fort Deposit, Ala., Grace Sorrells and Bertha Rice, both of Buena Vista.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lomax Funeral
Chapel, with the Rev. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow in the Green
Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the
funeral home.
