OBIT MATHENA, ELMER VERNON JR.

MATHENA, Elmer Vernon Jr., 42, of Crestwood, Ky., formerly of Roanoke, Va. passed away Tuesday, January 25, 1994. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Mathena. Surviving are two sons, Shayne and Brian Mathena, Springfield, Va.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer V. Mathena Sr., Vinton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky and Jerry Jefferson of Providence Forge, Va., Linda and James Hill Jr. of Crestwood, Ky.; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel 7 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Harry M. Miller Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Roanoke Valley Cathedral of Praise, Building Fund, 1488 Peters Creek Rd. N.W. Roanoke, Va. 24017.
