REPORTED EARNINGS

Dominion Resources

Dominion Resources, Inc., Richmond-based parent of Virginia Power, on Friday reported 1993 unaudited earnings of $3.12 per share, up 13 percent from $2.76 per share in 1992. Virginia Power earned $2.82 per share, up 19 cents from $2.63. Dominion Resources' non-utility businesses earned 30 cents per share, up 17 cents.

Net income for the year was $516.6 million, or $3.12 per share, on operating revenues and other income of $4.4 billion, compared with $444.5 million, or $2.76 per share, in 1992.

Fourth-quarter earnings were $92 million, or 55 cents per share, down from $139.5 million, or 86 cents for the 1992 period. Virginia Power earned 50 cents per share, down 26 cents from 76 cents. Dominion Resources' non-utility businesses earned 5 cents per share, down 5 cents.

United Dominion Realty Trust

United Dominion Realty Trust Inc., Richmond owner of apartments and industrial property in Roanoke and Salem, reported 1993 funds from operations of $31.7 million, or 83 cents per share, up 19 percent per share from $24.2 million, or 70 cents, for 1992. Rental income was $89.1 million, income from property operations before depreciation was $51.2 million and net income was $11.2 million, or 29 cents per share. For 1992, rental income was $63.2 million, income from property operations before depreciation was $36.7 million, and net income was $6.3 million, or 18 cents per share.

Fourth-quarter funds from operations were $8.9 million, or 22 cents per share, up 14 percent per share from $6.7 million, or 19 cents per share, for the 1992 quarter. Rental income was $24.5 million, income from property operations before depreciation was $13.8 million and net income was $3.4 million, or 8 cents per share. For the fourth quarter last year, rental income was $17.1 million, income from property operations before depreciation was $10.1 million and net income was $695,000, or 2 cents per share.

Hershey Foods

Hershey Foods Corp., the Hershey, Pa., operator of a chocolate plant at Stuarts Draft and a pasta plant at Winchester, on Friday reported record consolidated fourth-quarter net sales and net income. Net sales were $1 billion, compared with $969.5 million for the 1992 quarter. Net income was $92.2 million, or $1.04 per share, compared with $82.3 million, or 91 cents per share.

Net sales for 1993 were $3.5 billion, compared with $3.2 billion in 1992. Income was $256.6 million, or $2.86 per share, compared with $242.6 million, or $2.69. Net income was $193.3 million, or $2.15 per share.

WLR Foods

WLR Foods Inc., Rockingham County chicken and turkey processor operating a distribution center in Roanoke for its Cassco Ice & Cold Storage subsidiary, reported second-quarter net earnings of $4.1 million, or 37 cents per share, up from $3 million, or 29 cents, for the year-earlier quarter. Net sales were $182.3 million, up 24 percent from $146.6 million.

For the first six months, earnings were $7.9 million, or 72 cents per share, up from $7.2 million, or 71 cents. Net sales were $361.3 million, up 26 percent from $287.4 million.
