OBIT--AKERS, MARY ELLEN RATCLIFFE

AKERS, Mary Ellen Ratcliffe, 40, of Pearisburg died Friday, January 28, 1994, following a long illness. Miss Akers was a self employed Beautician. She was born in Pearisburg on December 19, 1953, and was a daughter of Odel and Mary Comer Ratcliffe. Besides her parents she is survived by two brothers, Bentley Ratcliffe, Pearisburg, Mike Ratcliffe, Newport; one sister, Diane Bradley of Pembroke; three special friends, Barbara Lucas and Tom and Shirley Bradley; 13 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 30, 1994, at 2 p.m. in the Pearisburg Fellowship Church with the Rev. Carl Rountree and the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating with interment in the Ratcliffe family cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Givens Funeral Home, Pearisburg.
