OBIT--ROBERTS, PLINA C.
ROBERTS, Plina C., 93, of Galax, died Friday, January 28, 1994, in the
Waddell Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Robert Mack Cox and
Mary Hampton Cox. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, Dan C.
Roberts, a well-known dairyman. She attended Radford College and taught school
in Grayson and Carroll Counties prior to her marriage. She was a long-time
member of the Galax Presbyterian Church, serving in many capacities and was an
ordained elder. She is survived by two daughters, Eloise R. Vass and Mary R.
Guynn both of Galax; two sisters, Edna C. Weeks of Shawsville, Va. and Faye C.
Ashley of West Palm Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Sunday 1 p.m. at the
Galax Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to
9 p.m. at the Galax Presbyterian Church. Flowers will be appreciated as well
as memorials to the Galax Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund. Vaughan-Guynn
Funeral Home, Galax in charge of arrangements.
