Jason Light scored 19 points to lead the Buffaloes, who went on a 19-2 run and outscored the Maroon Tide 31-6 in the third quarter.
Jamie Warren added 16 points and and Peter Bucklin 10 for Floyd County (11-1 overall, 10-1 district).
Galax (3-6, 3-8), which shot just 31 percent, was led by Stevie Grimes with seven points. \

BLAND - The Rockets used a stifling defense in the second half to pound the Eagles in a Mountain Empire District matchup.
Bland (7-6 overall, 6-4 in the district) trailed 35-30 at halftime but held Auburn to 15 points in the second half en route to the win.
Shannon Havens scored 18 points and Kevin King had 16 for the Rockets.
Terry Millirons scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Eagles.

NARROWS - Patrick Bailey led three players in double figures for the Green Wave, which pounded the Shawnees in a Mountain Empire District game.
Bryan Pruett added 16 and Scott Vaught 13 for Narrows (3-7, 3-5). For Shawsville (0-10, 0-8), Darrell Bibb scored 16 and Jeremy Nichols 11. \

BUCHANAN - James Fisher scored 18 points, including the tying basket with 15 seconds left in regulation, and the Rockets slipped past the Knights in a Pioneer District game.
Craig County (2-5, 1-3) led 47-42 when Fisher made a 3-pointer to cut it to two points. James River's Chris Firebaugh missed the front end of a one-and-one and Fisher got loose for a layup that sent the game to overtime.
The Rockets were 5-of-6 from the line in the extra period and outscored the Knights 9-2.
Craig County also got 16 points from Robby Huffman and 11 from Gary Abbott.
James River (2-6, 1-3), which made just seven of 17 free throw attempts, was led by Shahan Burrell with 12 and Brian Shorter with 11. \

BLACKSBURG - The Bulldogs used tight inside defense to help erase an eight-point halftime deficit and defeat the Indians in a non-district game.
Jason Strong scored a game-high 16 points and Scott Phipps added 10 for Tazewell (9-4), which held Blacksburg (4-7) to 12 points in the second half.
Ben Araman scored 15 points for the Indians, but he was contained after intermission. \
