OBIT GRIMM, JASON YOUNG
GRIMM, Jason Young, 17, of Rt. 1, New Castle, died Saturday, January 29,
1994 in Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem. He was born August 9, 1976 in Roanoke, the
son of Donald Young Grimm amd Barbara Boone Grimm, of Rt. 1, New Castle. Jason
was a senior at Craig County High School, where he had participated in several
sports. He was a member of the New Castle Christian Church. He enjoyed being
outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Jason was highly interested in
NASCAR racing for many years and had served as Grand Marshall at the Busch
Grand National Race at Martinsville Speedway in October 1993. During his
illness, he had been visited by numerous Winston Cup and Grand National
drivers, including Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty. In addition to his
parents, Jason is survived by his brother, Edward Grimm, Roanoke; sister, Mrs.
David (Dawn) Fisher, New Castle; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lula Grimm
Liptrap, Millboro; maternal grandfather, Wayne L. Blevins of New Castle; and
also by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held 2
p.m. Tuesday in the New Castle Christian Church with the Rev. Ernie Johnson
officiating, assisted by the Rev. Scott Vernon. Interment will be in the Paint
Bank Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7
to 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home, Covington.
