OBIT JOHNSON, SARAH FREDDIE WELCH

JOHNSON, Sarah Freddie Welch, 94, of Rt. 2, Bedford, died Monday, January 31, 1994, at Oakwood Manor. She was born in Bedford County November 2, 1899, the daughter of the late Clifton Bell Welch and Sarah Agnes Toms Welch. She was a member of Thaxton Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elmo Johnson and a daughter, Elnora Johnson Heath. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gwen J. and Rev. Eugene Campbell, Elon; two sons and daugthers-in-law, James Fred and Margie Johnson, Ruckerville, Danny Lee and Nancy Johnson, Bedford; a son-in-law, Blaney (Whitie) Heath, Portsmouth; also eight granchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 1994, at Thaxton Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Michael R. DuVal officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
