OBIT STANLEY, WILLIE WOODFORD

STANLEY, Willie Woodford, 81, of Route 1, Goode, formerly of Salem, died Friday, January 28, 1994, at her residence. She was born in Bedford County on December 27, 1912, a daughter of the late John Walter Woodford and Virginia Susan Hogan Woodford. She was a member of Terrace View Union Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rucker Stanley Sr., and two brothers, Ira Woodford and Frank Woodford. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Frank R. Stanley Jr. and Claris B. Stanley of Goode; one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis Stanley Nunn and Lewis D. Nunn of Forest; three brothers, Carson Woodford of Gainesville, Ga., George Woodford of Forest and Harman Woodford of Bedford; three sisters, Gaynelle Cooper of Birmingham, Ala., Marie Everett of Henderson, N.C., and Royce Teague of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Stanley of Goode, Julie Brooks of Madison Heights and Deborah Twark and Bart Nunn, both of Forest; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held 3 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 1994, at Terrace View Union Church, with the Rev. W. Nolan Teague and the Rev. Wayne Lanham officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Terrace View Union Church cemetery fund, c/o Lewis Nunn, Route 1, Box 2018, Forest, Va. 24551.
