OBIT GROSECLOSE, HARRY CLAYTON SR.
GROSECLOSE, Harry Clayton Sr., 88, of Rt. 1, Ivanhoe, died Sunday, January
30, 1994 in the Blue Ridge Highlands Nursing Home in Galax. He was born in
Wythe County, the son of the late Thomas Boyd and Grace Ann White Groseclose.
He was a member of Ivanhoe Masonic Lodge #235 A.F. & A.M. and the Royal Arch
Chapter #51. He was preceded in death by a son, Harry Clayton Groseclose Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Porter Groseclose; two daughters and
sons-in-law, Dannielle and S. A. Lowman, Roanoke, Beth and Ralph Mabe,
Wytheville; one son and daughter-in-law, David P. and Christine L. Groseclose,
Greensboro, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Brown (Margaret) Allison, Draper. Several
grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be
held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe Carrico
officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery. The family will
receivefriends at the Barnett Funeral Home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic
memorial service will be held at 8:30 p.m. The family suggests that those who
prefer, may make memorials to the Lead Mines Rescue Squad. Barnett Funeral
Home in Wytheville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
