OBIT LIPES, ALONZO W.

LIPES, Alonzo W., ("Lonnie"), 78, of Richmond, formerly of Covington, died Sunday, January 30, 1994. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina W. Lipes and a son, James D. Lipes. He is survived by two sons, Gregory A. Lipes and Michael D. Lipes, both of Richmond; two daughters, JoAnn M. Patterson, Louisville, Ky. and Donna M. Saunders, Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Kathleen Campbell, Roanoke, and Helen Floyd, Covington; also 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Lipes was retired from the State of Virginia Department of Corrections. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Road. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke, Va. Interment in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg, Va.
