PETERS, Bentley Wray, 83, of Roanoke, died Monday night, January 31, 1994.
Mr. Peters was a retired State of Virginia employee. He was a member of First
Presbyterian Church, an Army Veteran having served during World War II in 111
Infantry Combat Team, a member of Kazim Temple, 32 degree Mason, belonged to
the Shrine Club, Isaac Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M. Boones Mill, lifetime member of
Roanoke Elks Lodge #197, B.P.O.E., Roanoke American Legion and Roanoke Moose
Lodge #284. Surviving are his wife, Catherine (Cathy) Rucker Peters; a sister,
Frances Minix, Wirtz; two brothers, L. G. Peters, Boones Mill, Va., Keith
Peters and wife, Estelle, of Bradenton, Fla.; two stepgrandsons, Robert
Jeffrey Brown and wife, Kelly, of Pennsylvania, David R. Brown and wife,
Leeann, of Roanoke; a stepgranddaughter, Rachel Olsen and husband, Rick, of
Radford, Va.; five stepgreatgrandchildren; a special niece, Sarah Angle Purves
of Boones Mill and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
conducted at Lotz Roanoke Chapel, noon Thursday, Feb 3, 1994, with the Rev.
Jess Bratton and the Rev. Bob Smith officiating. Elks Memorial service will be
conducted at the graveside with interment in Daleville Cemetery. Memorial
donations may be given to your favorite charity. The family will receive
friends at Lotz Roanoke Chapel, 7 pm to 9 pm Wednesday.
