OBIT VEST, HURSLE ADELL

VEST, Hursle Adell, 87, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, February 1, 1994, after a long struggle with cancer. She was a life time member of First Church of the Brethren and was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Howard Vest and one sister, Juanita Alderman of Roanoke; and two brothers, Lester K. Bower, Salem, William I. Bower, Florida. Surviving are two daughters, Iris Jean, Roanoke, Betty Shields of Maryland; one son, Lawrence Howard (Buddy) Vest, Roanoke; three sisters, Thelma Price, Roanoke, Ruth Webb, Salem, Kitty Adams, Roanoke; two brothers, Arthur C. Bower Jr., Vinton, Edward Bower, Roanoke; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Oakey's South Chapel 11 a.m. Friday the Rev. Paul Alwine will officiate. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
