OBIT UMBERGER, VELVA ALEENE

UMBERGER, Velva Aleene, 86, of 335 East Spiller St., Wytheville died Monday, January 31, 1994, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church and was a retired nurse. She is survived by one brother, Worth B. Umberger of Radford; ten nephews; five nieces also survived. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 3, 1994, 1 p.m. in the St. Paul United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Charles Burnett and the Rev. Henry Horton. Interment to follow in the East End Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home Wednesday, February 2, 1994, from 7 to 9 p.m. In addition to the visiting hours at the funeral home, the family will be in the Fellowship Hall, St. Paul United Methodist Church, after the service for a luncheon served by the St. Paul United Methodist Church after the service for a luncheon served by the St. Paul United Methodist Women. The family request no food be delivered to the home, however food will be received at the Fellowship Hall for the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Methodist Church. The Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
