OBIT WILKINSON, RUBY MAGGIE GARST
WILKINSON, Ruby Maggie Garst, 93, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, February 1,
1994, in a local hospital. She was born November 14, 1900, a daughter of the
late Frank and Julia S. Garst, of Roanoke County. She was the widow of Thomas
Monroe Wilkinson Sr. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ann
Elizabeth Wilkinson. She is survived by a daughter; Ruby Frances Luckado,
Roanoke; a son, Thomas Monroe Wilkinson Jr., Roanoke; a daughter, Barbara Bova
Croy, Vinton; eight grandchildren including Debra Luckado who was her faithful
companion and care giver, Rebecca Stein, Houston, Texas, Teresa Bova, Brenda
Dillon, Judy Pate, Louis Wilkinson, Jan Sowers and Kay Wilkinson all of
Roanoke; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Benedict, Roanoke. A
graveside service will be held in Evergreen Burial Park at 2 p.m. Thursday,
with Dr. Daniel E. Scott officiating. The family will receive friends from 7
to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's South Chapel.
