The scramble for TV movie rights to skater Nancy Kerrigan's story is intense, so Fox Broadcasting Co. may be trying an alternative approach: the Tonya Harding saga.

Industry sources said Thursday that Fox is weighing a movie based on Harding, who has denied complicity in the plot to injure her rival.

On today's "Geraldo," Dr. Joyce Brothers goes trampy. The pop shrink submits to a makeover and emerges in a tight-fitting, red leather jacket; a low-cut, lace-up red leather dress; spike heels; and a new, blonder haircut. Notes Brothers, 65: "This is the first time anyone has seen my knees since I was a breech delivery."

From Jay Leno: "Oliver North is running for the Senate in Virginia. He has already raised over one million bucks. It's interesting how he raised the money. . . . He took some of the leftover weapons from the Iran-Contra deal, and he went to New York City and just cashed them in at Toys R Us for gift certificates."
