CARDWELL LEADS NORTH CROSS WIN

Marcus Cardwell had his third triple-double of the season Thursday night in leading North Cross to a 90-76 victory over Timberlake Christian in Virginia Independent Conference boys' basketball.

Cardwell had 26 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the Raiders (9-6, 7-2).

Monty Smith added 25 points and 14 rebounds for North Cross, and Hal Johnson had 19 points, including four 3-point goals.

SOUTH BOSTON - William Fitzgerald scored 23 points as the Colonels routed the Comets in non-district action.

Reggie Reynolds had 18 points, Derrick Hines chipped in 16 and Keith Hampton scored 13 for William Fleming (10-4), which never trailed.

Andre Sims scored 27 points to lead Halifax County (4-8). Dallas Mosley had 13 and Mike Jackson scored 11, including three 3-pointers.
