OBIT VAUGHAN, WILLIAM VELARIS

VAUGHAN, William Velaris, 79, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, February 2, 1994. He was the son of the late Robert L. Vaughan and Lena Braxton Vaughan Price and was retired from Norfork Western Railway. He was preceded in death by a brother, G. Cleveland Price. Mr. Vaughan is survived by his wife of 56 years, Irene V. Vaughan; one sister, Sadye R. Ollie, both of Roanoke; a brother and sister-in-law, James H. and Jeraldine Price, Washington, D.C.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services 11 a.m Saturday at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. E. T. Burton officiating, assisted by the Rev. Antonio Thomas. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
