OBIT--TEAFORD, GORDON EVERETT
TEAFORD, Gordon Everett, 70, of Gretna died Thursday, February 3, 1994, at
his home. He was born in Botetourt County on August 23, 1923, the son of the
late William E. and Essie Zell Teaford. He was member of Forrest Grove Baptist
Church. He retired from Lone Star Cement Corporation after 35 years service.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Naomi Shorter Teaford, Gretna; three
daughters, Mrs. Brenda Sue Richards, Roanoke, Mrs. Donna Lynn Rose, Rocky
Mount and Mrs. Patsy Jo Byers, Hollister, Florida; two sons, Mike Teaford,
Gretna and Steven E. Teaford, Shady Springs, W.Va.; five sisters, Mrs. Hattie
Mae Rogers, Vinton, Mrs. Dorothy Watkins, Natural Bridge Station, Mrs.
Claudine Barger, Eagle Rock, Mrs. Julia Dudding, Eagle Rock, and Mrs. Betty
Miller, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Bernard M. Teaford, Clifton Forge
and Bobby Teaford, Eagle Rocky; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a
number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy
and Billy Ray Teaford. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday,
February 6, 1994, at Forest Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. W. Steven
Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family
will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Eagle Rock Funeral
Home.
