OBIT--WORRELL, MAUDE STAPLES

WORRELL, Maude Staples, 89, of West Grayson Street, Hillsville, passed away Friday, February 4, 1994, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Evan Worrell, born in Carroll County October 15, 1904, and a daughter of the late Franklin Douglas Staples and Mary Ellen Cox Staples. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Nelson and Anne Q. Worrell of Hillsville; one brother, Ashley Staples of Christiansburg; one sister, Marjorie Malloy of Hillsville; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 1994, at the Hillsville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the North End Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hillsville Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends Saturday evening 7 to 9 at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.
