BOWEN-HALE

Lillian Paulette Hale, MD and Thomas Gales Bowen, Jr. were married on Feb. 5, 1994 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Roanoke, Va. The bride is the daughter of Pauline Ayers Hale and the late Robert O. Hale, Sr. of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Northside High School in Roanoke, received a bachelor of science degree in biology at Roanoke College in Salem and received a degree as a doctor of medicine from the Medical College of Va. in Richmond. She is a second year resident in Internal Medicine at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Hale was escorted by her brother, Robert O. Hale, Jr. of Roanoke and was attended by her sister, Claudette Hale Selkirk of Roanoke who served as matron of honor. Her bridesmaids were Robin Spangler Hale of Roanoke, Amy Ward, MD of Mount Pleasant, SC, Michelle Miller, MD of Richmond, Va. and Suzanne Groah, MD of Richmond, Va.

The groom is the son of Brenda Gurley Bowen of Winston-Salem, NC and Thomas G. Bowen, Sr. of Winston-Salem, NC. He is a graduate of Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, NC, attended Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC and received a bachelor of science degree in meterology from N.C. State University in Raleigh, NC. He is the manager of client services at Damage Track, Inc. in Winston-Salem, NC. His brother, Benjamin Bowen of Winston-Salem, NC was best man and his groomsmen were Brian Bluhm of Winston-Salem, NC, Darren Chamberlain of Winston-Salem, NC,David Theleman of Raleigh, NC and James Byerly of Winston-Salem, NC.

The Rev. Connie Bowers of Bowersville, Ga. officiated. Barry Brooks Photography did wedding portraits. The bride's nephew, Kristopher D. Hale of Roanoke, was the videographer for the wedding and reception. The hostess was Anne Margeson of Atlanta, Ga. MarkSelkirk of Roanoke, brother-in-law of the bride, served as music technician for the ceremony and Joey Nicely of Roanoke was disc jockey at the reception at Holiday Inn-Airport. Servers at the reception were Eunice Hale, Helen Key and Doris Selkirk, all of Roanoke. The couple will make their home in Winston-Salem, NC after spending their honeymoon inJackson Hole, Wyoming.
