GROUP MOBILIZES AID TO HELP MADAGASCAR

Humanitarian aid was en route this weekend to Madagascar, devastated by a typhoon that left an estimated 100,000 people homeless.

Paris-based Doctors Without Borders said it would send a plane today with 40 tons of material and four people to bolster a small staff already in place.

Up to 11 people died when Typhoon Geralda careened across the Indian Ocean island nation Wednesday.
