The Knights (9-7 overall, 4-1 district) remained at the top of the district standings with the win. They connected on 14 of 21 3-pointers and set a school record for 3-pointers made in one game. Matt Matheny, who finished with 23 points, nailed four 3-pointers, and Jeff Lang, who scored 14 points, hit three 3-pointers.
The Knights led 39-32 at halftime after hitting nine 3-pointers in the first half and then held on in the second half. \

PEARISBURG - Marty Smith and Patrick Steele combined for 35 points as the Spartans edged the Green Wave in a Mountain Empire District game.
Giles (7-7, 7-5) led the entire game, but Narrows cut the deficit to 47-46 with just over four minutes remaining. But Smith, who finished with a game-high 18 points, was 6-of-7 from the free-throw line in the final period.
Patrick Bailey led Narrows with 17 points and Scott Vaught added 16.

ROCKY GAP - Bradley Hudgins scored 11 of his 15 points in the fourth period as the Eagles pulled away for a Mountain Empire District win.
Terry Millirons led Auburn (10-5, 9-4) with a game-high 25 points, and Jon Reed added 15. Joe Cromer led Rocky Gap (4-12, 4-10) with 24 points.
The teams were tied 43-43 after three quarters, but Auburn exploded in the fourth to score 36 points. \

LOW MOOR - Todd Wheatley led a balanced scoring attack with 16 points, and the Mountaineers clamped down defensively in the second half to win a Blue Ridge District game.
Supporting Wheatley were Todd Crawford and James Hughes with 13 points each, Jermaine Winston with 11 and Bill Bragg with 10.
The Mountaineers (9-6, 3-3) seized control by outscoring the Wildcats 47-27 in the second half.
Rockbridge County (6-8, 0-6) got 17 points from Michael Chambers, 14 from Marty Early and 13 from Martin Mayercheck. Chambers was limited to five points in the second half. \
