RUNNER QUALIFIES FOR JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Virginia Tech cross country runner Mike Cox qualified for the World Junior Cross Country Championships in Budapest, Hungary, by finishing fourth in the United States Amateur Track Federation World Cross Country trials Saturday.

Cox, a freshman from Princeton, W.Va., made the six-man team that will represent the United States in the junior division of the World Cross Country Championships on March 26. Cox ran the 5-mile course in 26 minutes, 33 seconds. - Staff report
