OBIT PERDUE, HAYWARD O'NEIL

PERDUE, Hayward O'Neil, 64, of Vinton passed away Friday, February 4, 1994, at the V.A. Medical Center, Salem after a lengthy illness due to Alzheimer's disease. He was retired from General Electric and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife, Imogene Decker Perdue; daughters and their husbands, Renita Ray Simpson and Kenneth Simpson, Idaho Falls, Id., Bonita Kay Hambrick and Danny Hambrick; a son and wife, Jon Eric Perdue and Cindy Foutz Perdue all of Roanoke; a brother, Ray Perdue, Danville; sisters, Irene Perdue, Richmond, Eula P. Rogers and Audra Dowdy, Roanoke; five grandchildren. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. Funeral services will be conducted at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2268 Hardy Road, Vinton, Monday, February 7, 1994, at 11 a.m. with Bishop Wayne M. Ayers officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Adult Care Center, Building 76-1, VAMC Hospital, Salem or local Alzheimer's organizations. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel Saturday and Sunday.
