OBIT GRAHAM, CHARLES TATE III
GRAHAM, Charles Tate III, 66, of Radford, died Friday, February 4, 1994, at
his home, after a lengthy illness. A native of Wythe County, he was born
September 3, 1927, a son of the late Charles Tate II and Mary Fairfax Francis
Graham. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn of Radford; daughter, Roxanna Walker;
son-in-law, Stuart Walker and two granddaughters, Sarah and Madison Walker of
Boulder, Colo.; stepchildren, Andrew Troth, Roanoke, William Troth,
Greensboro, N.C., and Lisa Troth Kesling, Wilmington, N.C.; aunts and uncles,
Rick and Sue Graham, Max Meadows, Ruby Graham, Hutchinson, Kan. and David
Francis, Pilot. Tate served as an Army Air Corps pilot on the Pacific Front
during World War II. He received degrees from Texas Tech and the New Mexico
School of Mines. As a field geologist, he conducted explorations, mining and
drilling projects in southwestern Virginia, the western United States, Central
and South America, and Africa. A private graveside service will be held at the
Graham-Robinson Family Cemetery at Graham's Forge. The family suggests that
memorials may be made to the Graham-Robinson Family Cemetery Association, c/o
Sue Graham, Rt. 1, Box 879, Max Meadows, Va. 24360, the New River Valley
Hospice, or the American Cancer Society. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville,
Va., is in charge of the arrangements.
