OBIT LAW, GEORGE C.
LAW, George C., ("Cope"), 84, of Salem, passed away Sunday, February 6,
1994 at the VA Medical Center, Salem, following a lengthy illness. He was a
former school teacher, served in the U.S. Military Armed Forces with an
honorable discharge and retired as a mail carrier from the Roanoke Post
Office. He was for many years a staunch supporter and loyal member of First
Baptist Church, Roanoke. he was a charter member of Dukes and Earls Social
Club; a member of Kappa Alpha PSI National Fraternity. He was preceded in
death by his parents, George M. and Mary V. Law, wife Julia Atkins Law and
brother Albert Falster Law. Survivors include one brother, Maynard H. Law,
M.D.; sister-in-law, Vernice J. Law; three nephews, Michael D. Law (Wanda),
Charlotte, N.C., Kirk A. Law (Sheray), Mountain View, Calif., Maynard H. Law
Jr. (Betty), Mount Rainier, Md.; niece, Judith Ann Pett Hunter, Colombia, Md.;
several great-nieces and nephews; a loyal and truly devoted brother-in-law,
Luther Atkins, Roanoke, many other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements
by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home. Family and friends will be received at the home
of his brother, Maynard H. Law Sr.
