OBIT BUTLER, IRENE WIDDIFIELD

BUTLER, Irene Widdifield, 75, of Lexington, died Sunday, February 6, 1994, at the Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center, Buena Vista. She had made her home with her cousin, Leslie R. and Joan Burch until entering the nursing home in June 1993. She was born in Buena Vista, January 13, 1919, the daughters of the late Brannum Mapp and Willie Viola Coleman Widdifield. She was retired from Prince Chiropractic Clinic, Wilmington, N.C., as a Chiropractic Assistant. She was a member of the Cape Fear Presbyterian Church, Wilmington, N.C. and was an active member for many years of the Scotch Bonnet Chapter of the ABWA. In addition to her cousin, Mr. Leslie R. Burch, she is survived by numerous cousins in Buena Vista and Rockbridge County. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 1994, at Green Lawn Memorial Park in Wilmington, N.C., with the Rev. Christopher A. Yim officiating. The family will receive friends at the Andrews Mortuary in Wilmington from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 1994. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cape Fear Presbyterian Church, 2606 Newkirk Ave., Wilmington, N.C. 28412. Lomax Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
