OBIT BRAFORD, LLOYD D. JR.
BRAFORD, Lloyd D. Jr., 67, of Natural Bridge, died Sunday, February 6, 1994
at home. He is survived by his wife, Peg T. Braford; two sons, Steven T.
Braford of Livermore, Calif., L. Brad Braford and his wife, Katrina of
Roanoke; three sisters, Moreland Claytor of Hillsborough, N.C., Barbara Hall
of Norfolk and Beth Thompson of Lexington; four brothers, Douglas Braford, Ed
Braford and Richard Braford, all of Natural Bridge, and Robert Braford of
Suffolk. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd D. Braford Sr. and
Louise Ruff Braford, a sister Mary Martha Lichtenberg and a brother Hugh Start
Braford. He was a member of High Bridge Presbyterian Church where he had
served as both a deacon and an elder. He was active in the Glasgow Men's
Prayer Breakfast Group. In 1988, he retired from the Glasgow office of General
Shale Products Corporation where he was head of sales. During World War II, he
served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater. He was do-owner of
Antiques by Braford. His hobbies, in addition to collecting antiques, were
working in his yard and traveling, having been to China three time, to Europe
several times, to Tibet, to S.E. Asia, and to India. Following a private
committal service, a memorial service will be conducted by The Rev. Glenn
Coleman at High Bridge Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, February 9, 1994 at
11 a.m. Friends may call at the residence. In lieu of flowers, the family
suggests contributions be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948,
Lexington, Va. 24450 or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Harrison
