REPORTED EARNINGS

Stanley Furniture Co. Inc., Stanleytown, Va., maker of residential furniture, Monday reported record fourth-quarter net sales of $47.9 million, up 6 percent from $45.3 million in the 1992 quarter. Earnings from continuing operations were $1.7 million, or 35 cents per share, compared with $687,000, or 23 cents per share, for the 1992 period.

1993 net sales were $167.1 million, up 4.6 percent from $166.5 million in 1992. Earnings from continuing operations reached $5.3 million, or $1.39 per share, up from $1.7 million, or 56 cents per share, in 1992.

Hardee's Food Systems

Hardee's Food Systems Inc., Rocky Mount, N.C., operator of 4,019 company and franchise restaurants in 40 states and 11 foreign countries, Monday reported fourth-quarter operating earnings of $18.5 million, prior to a non-recurring, pretax charge of $18 million on the recent sale of 84 Roy Rogers restaurants in the Philadelphia area. That was down 14.5 percent from $21.7 million for the 1992 period.

1993 earnings were $84.6 million, prior to the pretax charge, up 34 percent from $63.1 million in 1992.

Systemwide sales were $1.2 billion, up 1.1 percent from the 1992 quarter. Systemwide sales for the year were $5 billion, up 4.3 percent from $4.8 billion. Revenues during the quarter were $503.1 million, up 1.6 percent from $495.1 million. 1993 revenues were $2 billion, up 4.1 percent from $1.9 billion.
