OBIT JONES, MARY ELLEN

JONES, Mary Ellen, 89, of Roanoke, formerly of 2415 Staunton Ave. N.W., passed away in a local nursing home Sunday, February 6, 1994. She was the widow of Sylvester Jones and a member of Mout Zion AME Church for many years. Surviving are a brother-in-law; Dr. William Lawrence Jones, Washington, D.C. and devoted cousins and caretakers, Mrs. Delois C. Broady and Rev. Ulas N. Broady. Also surviving are Mrs. Yvonne Broady Smith and her husband, Christopher Smith of Raligh, N.C.; other devoted distant relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Mount Zion AME Church with the Rev. Frank Saunders officiating clergyman and burial in Williams Memorial Park. A visitation period with the family will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Friends may also call at family headquarters, the home of Rev. and Mrs. Ulas Broady, 2204 Lynnhope Rd. N.W., Roanoke. Hamlar-Curtis, Morticians.
