UVA'S STREAK ON LINE

Virginia will put its unbeaten conference record on the line at 7:30 tonight when the Cavaliers host North Carolina in a battle of top 10-ranked women's college basketball teams.

UVa freshman guard Tora Suber scored a career-high 29 points in the first game between the teams, when the Cavaliers handed Carolina its only loss of the season, 77-75 in Chapel Hill, N.C.

It was one of 11 consecutive victories for ninth-ranked Virginia (18-2 overall, 10-0 ACC). Third-ranked Carolina (19-1, 9-1) has won eight games in a row.

A crowd of 6,000 is expected at University Hall, where the Cavaliers have tied a school record with 36 straight victories. It is the second-longest active home winning streak in the country behind Tennessee's 46. - Staff report
