Former All-Group AAA quarterback Shannon Taylor from Patrick Henry High in Roanoke said last week that he did not intend to sign with UVa until he had met the required test scores. That was also the route taken by defensive linemen Tony Agee from Charlottesville and Tony Dingle from Fayetteville, N.C.
Taylor and Agee were rated among the top 25 prospects in Virginia by the Roanoke Times & World-News. Five of UVa's signees made that list, including quarterback Aaron Brooks and defensive back Anthony Poindexter, who were on the top five.
UVa lists five of its signees as wide receiver-defensive backs, five as linemen and three as tight end-defensive linemen. Terrence Wilkins, the only running back, also is listed as a defensive back.
