OBIT NESTER, EVELYN CATHERINE

NESTER, Evelyn Catherine, 66, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, February 8, 1994 in a local hospital. She was retired from the Salem V. A. Medical Center after many years of service. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie Lee Nester. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Lee and Sandy Nester, Raymond Howard and Linda Nester, Donald Edward and Ricki Nester, all of Salem; a daughter, Carlyon Jean Webb, Salem; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Paul LePhew. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
